Caffenol-C-M Development part 3.5

Continuing on with my extension from the last post I did about Caffenol-C-M these images are also from Fanime. This roll was all pretty much from the Homestuck Meetup. There were some difdifficulties I had with the file sizes of the bottom images. Basically at proper scanning the images were huge (over 130MB) and there were many issues trying to get them to appear online. Also these are scans from the negatives and they aren't prints so they can be improved if I am able to get into a darkroom.

The single images you can click and view them in the full size I scanned them in. They are so large so you can see the Caffenol's effect on the film as it fogs the film to development which makes some great contrast in black and white film at low speeds.

Now I said just about everything else in my last post which was Caffenol-C-M Development part 3.

Caffenol-C-M Development part 3

This is Part 3 of my Caffenol-C-M development experiment (Part 1, Part 2). I am becoming more comfortable with the process so it isn't so much of an experiment anymore but it still is a very new process I am trying out. I developed two rolls from my trip to San Jose to the Fanime Convention. Some higher resolution scans will come in a few days with the other roll that was developed but I am getting very comfortable measuring all the stuff with the crude measuring tools.

These images are from the Homestuck Gathering at Fanime the rest of the images are from this, and some cosplayers and the Fanimaid performances. The last scan is in color to show what the negatives to show kind of the stain that the coffee leaves. The next update will be the Caffenol-C-M Development 3.5 which will have some more strips and some higher res scans. This will show some of the greatness of the caffenol  development.

Just Another Desert Party 2011

This will be one of three blog posts about Just Another Desert Party hosted by Warshaw Pact Entertainment. The reason why there will be three posts about it are because of the images taken and how long it will eventually take for me to get everything developed. Thankfully the digital images are online and re-sized already but last weekend was a blast. Death Guild brought the Thunderdome for the first time in the Arizona desert which was beyond every expectation I had for it. I took the liberty of fighting in the Thunderdome on Friday night. The small amount of foresight I had since the desert cools down so much at night gave me heatstroke. I busted open my hand as well on one of the weapons that I was giving someone the beatdown with. The harnesses also wrecked my lower back so I am moving at a snail's pace. Overall an experience to remember, I just wish I had a better meal so I wasn't stumbling around like an idiot after I
exhausted myself.

That ended my Friday night while Saturday my back felt a lot better and my hand was eventually put into a fresh wrap (even as I write this I been disinfecting and getting myself a fresh hand wraps every once in a while) so I had a much less eventful night and I just hung out took photos and enjoyed the company of my friends. The entire event had a very laid back vibe despite the Thunderdome, and the Sadisco* fight club being there.

Fanime 2011 and the Fanimaids

Where to start with this, what a strange weekend for me. I flew into San Jose on day 1 of the convention looked around and had a fun time. Day 2 I was able to catch the Fanimaid performances which were wonderful and featured Momoi who is the main subject of the second image. On the second day I also found the Slave Labor Graphics shop which is on first street just down the road from the convention. It was actually under a mile from the convention center. It surprised me a lot because it was a very unexpected find and since I have been a fan of what they published for a very long time. Day 4 I had to head back to Santa Cruz but over all it was an amazing trip.

As for the last month or so the lack of updates was for the lack of doing anything, I really should have gone out more or posted some of my normal work on the blog but I been kind of wanting to keep events off the blog as much as possible. When I am in a really good mood or really want to add photos from an event I will make a post about it but I am trying to keep this non-event oriented. Event meaning something I would post on Plurlife.com or get paid shooting a party. This month I should have some more modeling shoots and hopefully some other things will fall in place but last month was pretty crazy. Hopefully my small self strike is over now as I am getting everything more settled on the new computer. Now it is time for me to make like Hoshii (4th image) and run away.

Things I did while writing this post:
-Played around on tumblr
-Ordered a tablet PC
-Got angry at my laptop
-Some light editing
